A beautiful antique Victorian ruby and diamond serpent locket pendant. Formed of a wonderfully modelled serpent, wrapped around an oval bombe form, with an articulated drop shaped ruby and diamond pendant suspended from the serpent’s mouth. This locket symbolises a message of eternal love and passion and is a rare example of Victorian design and symbolism. Beautifully hand crafted in 18 carat yellow gold, with a crystal covered locket vitrine to the reverse and dating to circa 1860.
