Georgian Amethyst & Diamond Ring

A rare antique Georgian amethyst and diamond ring. Mounted to the centre with an amethyst of a vivid deep purple hue, with foil backed pear shaped rose cut diamond shoulders, mounted within cut down collet settings. The ring shank is hand chased and enamelled with the details reading “Mary Robinson died on the 24th Oct 1785 at the age of 43” and is further accented with black enamel to highlight the wording. The ring is hand crafted in high carat yellow gold and silver, accompanied with period ring case, British and is dating to circa 1785.
