A rare and important antique Victorian sapphire and diamond heart shaped locket pendant. Mounted to the centre with a certificated Sri Lankan ‘Ceylon’ cushion cut sapphire of an intense royal blue, estimated to weigh 2.60 carats, within a stunning heart-shaped antique cut diamond set frame. The old cut diamonds are estimated to weigh a total of 6.00 carats combined and are beautifully set. The bale is further accented with antique cut diamonds and the reverse is formed of a hinged carved rock crystal covered vitrine. Expertly hand crafted in silver and 18 carat yellow gold, with fine engraved detailing and dating to circa 1880.
